Unearthing the truth
Welcome to Correcting the Record, where we meticulously restore accuracy, context, and integrity to the historical record. Our mission is to ground every narrative in verifiable primary sources, rejecting speculation, unproven claims, and popular myths. Join us in preserving the past with precision.
My research is committed to accuracy grounded in evidence. Every claim is traced back to verifiable primary sources, including newspapers, census records, court filings, institutional proceedings, and archival materials. I do not rely on repetition, tradition, or untested narratives. When the documentary record is clear, it is presented as such; when it is incomplete or contradictory, that uncertainty is acknowledged rather than filled with assumption.
This work is also committed to correction. When widely accepted claims cannot be supported by documentation, they are re-examined and, when necessary, revised or set aside. The goal is not to replace one narrative with another, but to restore clarity by allowing the historical record to speak for itself. Accuracy, transparency, and accountability guide the research at every stage, ensuring that what is presented can be relied upon, cited, and revisited as new evidence emerges.

Our unwavering commitment
At Correcting the Record, our journey began with a singular focus: to preserve historical accuracy. We document the Reconstruction, Jim Crow, and Civil Rights eras using original newspapers, census records, court filings, and institutional archives. We are dedicated to correcting misinformation by presenting transparent, cited evidence, centering primary sources, and restoring overlooked figures, ensuring historical actors speak for themselves through the records they left behind.
